  • The Berlin Zoo
    • Duration: At your own pace Overview: The Berlin Zoo is the most visited zoo in Europe with approximately 3.0 million annual visitors from all over the world. It is open all year long and can easily be reached by public transportation. The Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station (also simply known as Zoo), U-Bahn, S-Bahn and buses are interlinked here. Visitors can either enter the zoo through the exotically designed Elephant Gate beside the aquarium on Budapester Straße or through the Lion Gate on Hardenbergplatz.

  • An evening at Charlottenburg Palace
    • Duration: 6 hours Overview: Charlottenburg Palace is today's largest residence of the royal house of Hohenzollern in Germany's capital Berlin. It is worthwhile going to Baden-Baden with a few days in hand. The thermal springs are a true gift of nature and do wonders for body and soul. In the spa park, the Lichtentaler Allee runs for several kilometers from the pump room to Lichtental Convent past the neo-baroque theatre.   • Europa-Park in Rust
    • Overview: Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme park resort in Europe. Europa-Park is in Rust, in the south-west of Germany between Freiburg and Strasbourg, France. It is usually open from just before Easter until the beginning of November (summer season) and from the end of November to the second week in January (winter season).

      The park is split into fifteen different areas, most named after European countries or regions. The park is home to ten roller coasters. Europa-Park is also a major resort. It boasts four hotels, a guest house, Tipi Village and campsite. The largest hotel is called Colosseo which includes a re-creation of a Roman Coliseum. Across the park, there are many shows performed on a daily basis, such as an Ice Show in Greece, a Gladiator Arena Show in Spain, an Acrobatics Show in an Italian Theatre and a fully re-created Globe Theatre, based on that of William Shakespeare. In addition, there are several smaller theatres and outdoor stages, street artists and a daily parade. The Magic 4D Cinema also opens during the evening and shows current blockbusters.

  • Olympic Ice Stadium
    • Duration: 4 hours Overview: To show off the growth and strength of his new Reich, Hitler pulled out all the stops for the 1936 Olympic Games to be held in Germany (the location had already been decided before Hitler's seizure of power in 1933). The summer Olympics were held in Berlin, but first, in February, the 4th Winter Games were held in the Bavarian alpine venue of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

      An Olympic ice stadium was built in Garmisch and a ski stadium was built in its sister village of Partenkirchen (the two municipalities are on either side of the Partnach River), in the shadow of Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. Both stadiums are still in use today. Looking up the mountain side, you can still see the ski jumps used in 1936. Garmisch is still a very small village. The view of the alpine valleys and the Bavarian Alps that surround it make this a wonderful destination for hiking, cross country skiing and parasailing.

      Though Neuschwanstein looked like a medieval castle, it was equipped inside with state of the art technology at that time. The fairytale look of the Neuschwanstein castle inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom.
