Jordan
Straddling some of the most strife-ridden countries in the Middle East, Jordan is one of the world’s friendliest countries. From a history that goes back to Moses who stood at Mt Nebo and surveyed the promised land, to the lost city of Petra, one of the new seven wonders of the world, Jordan offers the Dead Sea, the starkness of Wadi Rum, the bustle of modern Amman and the coral-filled wonders of the Gulf of Aqaba, besides several Roman cities, Crusader castles, citadels and Biblical sites. To get under the skin of Jordon, read, ‘Seven Pillars of Wisdom’, by TE Lawrence, watch, ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ and listen to hit album ‘Khaliji’, featuring Naser Musa.
