A Week in Austria, 7 nights/ 8 days

Day 1: Vienna
Arrive Vienna Airport in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Evening, enjoy a Viennese musical concert on your own. Overnight at your hotel in Vienna
Day 2: Vienna – Innsbruck
Breakfast. Check-out and transfer on your own to train station and using your Eurail Austria Pass travel by train (approx. duration: 4h45m) to Innsbruck. Arrive and transfer on your own to your hotel. Evening, enjoy a typical Tyrolean evening with an attractive programme which only includes authentic folk music. See the dancers shoe slapping and listen to the Tyrolean songs and yodeling. You will never forget this evening with an authentic entertainment and original costumes. Don't keep your hands and feet still… dance to the music! Additionally you will have a transfer from your hotel in Innsbruck to the show venue and back to your hotel. Return to your hotel in Innsbruck for overnight.
Day 3: Innsbruck (Swarovski Crystal World)
Breakfast. Enjoy a unique visit to the amazing and sparking world of Crystals, created for you by Swarovski! This tour will take you to explore the fantastic and sparkling world of Swarovski. Aboard a fast and comfortable coach from central Innsbruck (30 minutes drive), you will be taken to the world famous Swarovski Crystal World, situated in Wattens. The water spouting Giant (a remarkable huge face sculptured on top of a rock) will amaze you with his sparkling eyes! Inside the Giant, a whole crystal world awaits you: the Chambers of Wonders containing the Planet of Crystals, the Crystal Dome, the Crystal Theatre, the Ice passage and the Floating Poem. They all witness the level of artistic perfection reached by Swarovski and their images will be etched on your mind forever. Return to your hotel in Innsbruck for overnight.
Day 4: Innsbruck – Salzburg (Bavarian Alps)
Breakfast. Depart by train (approx. duration: 2h) to Salzburg. Arrive and transfer on your own to your hotel and check in. Afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the Bavarian Alps. Your tour starts with a drive towards the historical Celtic town of Hallein, over the Durrnberg mountain road, past the old salt mines into neighbouring Bavaria and Germany. We then drive over the alpine pass for breathtaking views of the alps, and continue to Obersalzberg. After a short stop, we descend into the valley to the beautiful lake, Konigssee. From here we drive to Berchtesgaden and take a stroll through this pretty mountain town. Return to your hotel in Salzburg for overnight.
Day 5: Salzburg (Mozart City Tour + “The Most Unique Sound of Music Tour)
Breakfast. Enjoy a guided morning Mozart City Tour. Stroll through Mozart's Salzburg and take a closer look at the main sights of this picturesque city. See the Mozarteum School of Music, the Marionette Theatre, the County Theatre, the house where Mozart lived, Trinity Church, the County Legal Courts, Nonnberg Abbey, Hellbrunn Palace where we will have a short stop, the Villa of Frohnburg, the Neutor tunnel, the Festival Houses, the Horsepond, Getreidegasse, the Church of St. Blasius and Mozart Square. You will also receive a ticket for a funicular up to Hohensalzburg Fortress, which dates back to the 11th century and is the largest in Europe, from where you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

Afternoon, join on a guided “The Most Unique Sound of Music Tour”, this popular tour guides you around the locations made famous by the film, 'Sound of Music'.  Relive the true story of the Von Trapp family which was filmed as the 'Sound of Music' in the Salzburg area. The tour, which has been Salzburg's most popular tour for over 20 years, is a combination of sightseeing in this historical city itself and in the beautiful lakes and mountains area known as the Salzkammergut, which is also a famous musical and cultural centre. The highlights and film locations of the 'Sound of Music', such as the beautiful gardens in Hellbrunn (where Liesl and Rolf sang 'I am 16 going on 17'), and the wedding church in Mondsee are a treat for all fans of the film. At the end of the tour, don't forget to claim your free Edelweiss cocktail at the Jugend und Familiegastehaus close to the Fortress - just ask your guide for directions!

Return to Salzburg for overnight stay.
Day 6: Salzburg – Vienna
Breakfast. Depart by train (approx. duration: 2h30m) to Vienna. Arrive and transfer on your own to your hotel and check in.Evening, enjoy a Viennese musical concert on your own. Overnight at your hotel in Vienna
Day 7: Vienna (City Tour and Schonbrunn Palace)
Breakfast. Morning, enjoy a guided city tour, introducing you to the most important sights of the Austrian capital. As we drive around the famous 'Ringstrasse', Vienna's main boulevard, we pass by the State Opera, the Museums of Fine Art and Natural History, the Parliament building, the Burgtheater (National Theatre), the City Hall and the University. We then drive along the Danube Canal and pass by Hundertwasser's 'Kunsthaus' and the Prater Park with its Giant Ferris Wheel. The highlight of this programme is the visit to Schonbrunn Palace where we take a tour of some of the most magnificently decorated rooms. We return to the city centre, passing by Belvedere Palace, where you will have the opportunity to end your tour, or you can choose to continue to the State Opera House, where the tour ends. In the afternoon, we recommend to enjoy your time to have a coffee and cake at one Vienna’s famous coffee houses. Overnight at your hotel in Vienna.
Day 8: Vienna
Breakfast. Check-out and transfer to the airport to depart by flight with beautiful memories of a relaxed vacation in Austria.
